Q: Is it really worth it to book a wedding videographer?
A: YES! Many of our couples tell us that when they watch our videos, they remember what their wedding day felt like, and you can’t always recreate that feeling through photos alone.
Q: How far in advance should I book my wedding videographers?
A: We recommend booking us at least 6 months before your wedding to have the best chances of us being available for your wedding date. However, if your wedding date is quickly approaching and you’ve decided to book a videographer, please reach out to us! We’ll do our best to see if one of our teams can be available for your big day.
Q; Will you travel to film my wedding?
A: Yes! While we’re based in San Diego, we absolutely love to travel! We’ve been all over California, Ohio, Mexico, and we’re hoping to hop across the pond to film soon!
We do charge a travel fee for weddings in L.A. & further; the fee is based on the destination.
Q: What is your payment schedule?
A: We require a $500 deposit to secure your videographer team for your wedding date, and then the remaining balance is due 1 day before your wedding.
Q: How many videographers will be present on my wedding day?
A: All of our packages come standard with two videographers, to make sure we’re able to catch all the biggest & best moments of your wedding.
Q: What will having a Ryan Films team present on my wedding day be like?
A: We prefer a candid, “fly-on-the-wall” style. We’ll be in the background for the entire day, capturing what is happening as it’s happening with minimal directing. The only times we’ll direct you is during the pre-wedding preparations, and during photo times. We’ll ask you to do very simple things to capture motion for the video, as opposed to standing still and posing for your photographers. We want you to enjoy your wedding day with your partner, family & friends, and not feel like cameras were in your face all day.
However, no guarantees you won’t find us tearing up the dancing floor at the end of the night during the Cupid Shuffle or Cha Cha Slide!
Q: What do I need to do after booking Ryan Films?
A:. Relax! We’ll send you a reminder 1 month before your wedding to ask for your wedding day schedule, contact information for your other vendors, and your music choices for the day.
Q: Do I need to provide vendor meals?
A: Yes! Please feed your vendors. We can’t do our best work if we’re hungry.
Q: What other costs am I responsible for?
A: We do ask that you validate or cover our parking fees.
Q: Do I need to pay sales tax? A: Sales tax only applies to physical products, such as photo albums, USB drives with raw footage, and DVD packages.
Q: Do you offer discounts?
A: Yes! We offer discounts for weddings on Monday-Thursday, and for weddings that happen in January, and February.
Q: Can I get a discount if I request less hours or one videographer instead of two?
A: Unfortunately we’re unable to offer discounts for less hours, because your videographer team is dedicated to you for the entire day. We won’t schedule them for two events in one day.
We are also unable to offer discounts for one videographer instead of two, because that one videographer will have to work much harder to capture everything.
Q: How soon will I get my videos?
A: We know our couples are very eager to see their videos, so we send a sneak peek video within a week of your wedding. Your other videos will be delivered in about 1-2 months, but this may be extended slightly during the busiest times of the wedding season.
Q: Can I choose the music for my videos?
A: Couples can suggest songs they’d like to have in their videos, and we’ll do our best to honor them in our full movie edits. For our sneak peeks and short movies, we’re unable to use copyrighted music because the videos will be flagged when they’re posted online. We also want to use instrumental tracks that are more cinematic, so that the lyrics and voice-overs won’t clash.
Q: Can I request edits if I don’t like something in my video?
A: Of course! We’re happy to make adjustments to make your video perfect, but they usually aren’t necessary. We strive to get it right the first time.
Q: Will my video have your signature ring spin?
A: As long as the ring band is flat, we’re able to film our signature ring spin. If the edge of the ring is rounded, we won’t be able to make the ring stand up, spin and roll away.
